Last year Klewel was nominated finalist of the AIPC Innovation Award. This year, Klewel is official business partner and sponsor of AIPC 2010 which will be held in Liverpool (UK) in July. After IMEX a few weeks ago, Klewel will exhibit a stand at AIPC 2010.
AIPC – the International Association of Congress Centres – is the industry association for professional convention and exhibition centre managers world wide.
The AIPC – the International Association of Congress Centres – represents 160 members in more than 53 countries across the world and has held its conference in cities including Quebec, Edinburgh, Montpellier, Graz and Singapore.
AIPC occupies a unique position amongst the various organizations that represent the meetings industry. It is a true international organization, with representation from over 53 countries around the world. It focuses specifically on the issues, opportunities and challenges facing convention and exhibition centres. It celebrates and promotes the multicultural dimension of the international meetings industry and the role facilities play in enhancing this. And it maintains close working relations with related industry organizations to ensure members are well connected to overall industry issues.
One of the keynote speakers were Dr. Linda Yueh, Fellow in Economics, St Edmund Hall, University of Oxford, Visiting Professor, London Business School, Associate, Centre for Economic Performance, LSE giving a talk on “Global Economic Status and Outlook: The World Today and Tomorrow”.
Convention Centres are directly impacted by the state of the overall economy, which makes today’s global financial crisis of particular interest to centre managers. Dr. Yueh will address the underlying issues and recovery prospects for the economy, with particular reference to how recovery will likely unfold and which sectors will be impacted in ways that determine their meetings potential.
